CS is behind most of today’s innovations. It is the engine behind almost everything from biotechnology to cinematography to national security.
The U.S. Department of Labor predicts that computer science-related jobs will be among the fastest growing and highest paying over the next decade.
- 1.3 million jobs in computer and mathematical occupations will be created by 2022
- By 2018, there will be 3x as many job openings requiring CS knowledge than qualified applicants
- 1 in every 2 STEM jobs will be in computing in 2020
